My day out with the Legends!
30th Oct 2010 was no different day in my weekends where I chose to go out for a movie with my room mate but alas his day and night were well ruled by IT.. I chose to watch the movie 'Legend of the Guardians'. It didnt take more than a few bucks and a couple of frustrating hours with the glitches in the online booking.
Pretty easy was the journey in Chennai that the rainy morning where the show was at 10 45 AM.. early!! isn't it? yeah! It is, but what to do? Getting tickets for the show that early is pretty easy and it helps me good to have it. For no reason I know, I always found that any time I plan to watch a movie at INOX, I see heavy rain.
The show started with a surprising seating that I got, for I remember very well that i opted for a seat in the top line but the layout in the theater was jus the opposite of what was shown online. But it jus bothered me for nothing more than a few minutes, till I did make out that there were not more than a handful of audience. It was really surprising. I then grabbed my 3D goggles for a nominal refundable deposit of 150 INR and then the show jump started with not more than 1 ad before it really started.
With titles in 3D, goggles in black, cup corn n hands and seated alone in the row, I started getting thrilled by the very first sample video or Warner Bros for about the 3D animation. It was really good and funny enuf. One good thing about cartoons is you see no hard core violence and any character can be hit any num of times and still things remain fine and sweet.
Coming to the movie, The Legends of the Guardians, it was about a Owl family where 3 owlets are born and brought up by the parent owls with fairy tales and the so called legends of their ancestors and bla bla. Of the three, there was one owlet who didnt wanna believe in something that it never saw but the other two were good enuf to trust their Da' (Daddy) about any minute detail that was elicited in the story telling. They got things so easy on their mind that they could picture it in their thoughts.
As a matter of fact, which I didn't know, Owls dont find it easy to fly and flying was some skill they call it exceptional. One night when Da get his two elder owlets to teach them branching so that they make food for their livelihood, one of them finds it easy unlike the other. Owlets were always warned not be alone in the dark especially when the parent is not with them. And unlike what was said or expected, the young owlets fly (try) down the tree house and fall on grounds and find tough time flying back to home which is when some unknown owls swoop down all of a sudden and pick the two owlets to a place which is so devilish and scary.. The place is ruled by a bad owl well known as Metal Beak who wants to find time and chance and rule the world of Owls and for which he steals the owlets like this and makes them their slaves and hence his soldiers.. Of the two owlets which lost their way to home, one(Soren) makes sure he sticks to the right thing of getting back to home for good while the the other(Kludd) doesnt...
From here starts the real hunt by the owlet (Soren) to find a way out of that dark place unlike his brother owlet (Kludd) who wants to continue with the Pure ones, the team of the Metal Beak. The movie is all about Soren's struggle to find the way to reach the Guardians who always existed far away on the other side of the seas as told by Da'.

Movie had good, bad, big, small, cute, wild, male, female .. all kinds of owls. All it made me was to grow liking towards another kind of animal called OWL which i never thought would like it as I remember the picture of it when I saw it from a distance of nothing more than a couple of feet when I was a mere kid at home.Over all, it was a nice movie to watch. To feel the real sense of watching it, try looking for a chance in the nearest theaters.
My day out with the legends dint end up with jus watching the Owls, it took me beyond that where I did quite a lil shopping that was very much unplanned. I actually went to buy the book The Eleventh Commandment but then I got so bad a memory that I forgot the name of its author. Tried finding the same from the person who suggested me that one but had ill luck. Then I switched my concentration on buying something else and ended up buying a clean notebook and a pencil, an eraser and some leads for my pencil. Things that I didnt think of feel like buying in the past half a decade. Good! it was tho.
The rest of the day was pretty simple and routine with my weekend Driving Classes and bla bla bla...
