eighTEEN
Having not any plan for a regular movie kinda weekend I thought it would be jus another weekend that i would end up spending but with a couple of my school frens but in a casual talk with those frens, one of them gave a thought about making me goto a doc.. There have been a bunch of times I did think about this and saw or heard people at home who thought about this but neither I nor anybody else could energize me enough to go to the doc. Unlike any other instance till then, this guy selflessly did make out some info and arrived at his room with the details of the doc who I did have to approach the last weekend to know more about how to put up some weight and bla bla bla...
A word of caution as passed by my friend on Friday was like, I will have to make to the doc the next morning anytime between 7 to 10 am and that too with empty stomach... the later part, ye the empty stomach was stressed more like a painful part but then that was the interesting part for me cos I was happy that i dont have to eat that morning. The bothersome part being waking up quite a lil early on the weekend.. Well, if that is for my Wellness I gotta make it.. and that was not jus me who made it, I along with my two frens woke up quite early and did made the early move at about 9 AM...quite early huh...!!!
Time 9:00 AM, Tiruvanmiyur, Chennai
I and my two frens dragged ourselves on to the road with a half sleep mindset and did find an auto-rickshaw with a nice deal to go to Adyar, to the Health institute that my friend was referring to the previous night. With quite a little struggle we reached the premises. Not sooner than we stepped in we did find a few people who were drinking Jars of Something .. possibly a health drink. A typical assistant showed up attempting to take note of my (patient) details to present it to the physician in a queue. As if i were to have a caretaker to show up to there, he took full fledged details of my friends and their relation with me and bla bla.. Dint know what the purpose of collecting the same details of my friends that the assistant did till we walked into the room where the doc was seated with some equipment in hands. .... huh..
At about 10:10 AM my name was called and we walked into the room where the doc was seated. I dint really have to panic for about an injection on my way cos there was none who were treated there with anything other than a glass/jar of drink.. :).. ye.. I had to sigh with a lil relaxation. The doc then requested to me remove my shoes and checked my height and then with a very few arrangements he asked me to step on to some equipment which looked more like a regular weighing machine that we would have at home or any gym but had a LCD display reading some other thing which I never saw it like. I was done with my readings and then the doc asked my frens also do the same and their readings were also noted and with all the readings in fore front, the doc seated in a chair and got us seated in front of him and started the story of saying this is your weight and that is height, it should have been this much and it is more/less than that and the body fat and skeletal density is this and bla bla bla.. he did try to counsel all three of us and how opting their health drink would benefit and all, where I alone had to be the intended target.. But then it was a lil of a marketing and making more customers for them... :)
There were a lot of facts and figures that the doc presented us on the report before we had to step out of the discussion and start thinking on how to subscribe for their health nutrition package but it had one interesting element that gave interesting number. Metabolic Body Age (MBA)... The doc found I had a very low number on that unlike my other two friends and he started saying like it should not be that low and etc etc.. But then some sense in me was signalling me that the lower the number the better it is but i was not clearly sure till I found the below this evening abt MBA
" Metabolic age is a number that comes from comparing your Basal Metabolic Rate with the Basal Metabolic Rate average of your chronological age group. Depending on how you compare you are assigned a metabolic age number that can be lower or higher than your chronological age."
The eldest amongst us was having (chronological age/metabolic age) as 27/41 and then the next guy was 26/47 and I had 25/18... (ye my fav num keeps coming in again.. 1+8=9)
yuppy... I was marked quite younger and info on the web says that the younger that we are on the MBA, the healthier we are.. While we three were reading this number of ours and when it was mine that was spelt out, at one all three of us could think of jus one thing..
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button..
Am I really one of that case? lol...
Hence i ended up being a teenager again and this time its not jus for mere comments.... not sure how long I can live the same.

Nice post, it kept meandering like a river, and I was never quite sure which turn it would take. Good one, keep em coming! :)
Actually I had seen this instrument before and know that its one of the outputs is MBA... and the results were as per my expectations..
Yeah I am one of the friends with MBA 41.
Ye, i know that was not well versed or drafted post cos i was not sure how to arrive at the thing that i was talking about. I did try multiple things to arrive at the name of the posting cos i was actually planning to draft abt the entire weekend but the posting was already quite long that i had to end with jus one happening of the weekend.
@Sai: Well.. you would agree it at ease. I know. You add more to my worries now.
